KPRU Declares a Smoke-Free Campus to Promote Public Health

In compliance with the Rajabhat University Act B.E. 2547 (Section 31) and in accordance with national public health regulations, Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University (KPRU) has officially announced the University Notification on the Prevention and Protection of Non-Smoker Policy B.E. 2561 (2018) to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment for all.

Key measures under this policy include:

Smoke-Free Campus: All areas within KPRU are designated as non-smoking zones to protect the health of students, staff, and visitors.
No Tobacco Sponsorship or Promotion: All university divisions are prohibited from accepting financial support from tobacco manufacturers or importers, organizing or co-hosting activities with such companies, receiving awards, or engaging in any form of tobacco advertising or promotion.
Health Promotion Activities: University divisions are encouraged to promote smoking cessation through campaigns, events, and educational activities in line with the Tobacco Products Control Act B.E. 2560 (2017).
Legal Compliance: Everyone entering the university premises must comply with the Tobacco Products Control Act, and violators are subject to penalties as prescribed by law.
This policy reflects KPRU’s strong commitment to promoting a healthy, safe, and sustainable learning environment, ensuring the well-being of all members of the university community.

On October 30, 2024, the Public Health Program at Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University (KPRU) organized a highly engaging seminar titled “How to Reduce Toxins in the Body and Quit Smoking – It’s Easier Than You Think”. The event welcomed first- to fourth-year public health students, as well as other interested participants, aiming to raise awareness of personal health management and foster practical skills for lifestyle improvement.

Expert speakers, including Sukanya Saengkla, a professional nurse from Kamphaeng Phet Provincial Public Health Office, Paveena Uakarn, a Thai traditional medicine physician from Kamphaeng Phet Hospital, and Mr. Nares Khamcharoen, faculty member of the Public Health Program, guided students through evidence-based strategies to detoxify the body and quit smoking effectively. Participants actively engaged in interactive discussions and hands-on demonstrations, gaining the confidence, knowledge, and motivation to apply healthier behaviors in their daily lives. By connecting scientific insight with practical application, the seminar left a lasting impact, equipping students to make informed, sustainable choices for their health and well-being.
