Sustainable Cities and Communities

Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University (KPRU) has integrated green building standards into the renovation of existing learning facilities and adopted green building assessment criteria as key guidelines for designing and constructing new ones. These standards prioritize the use of alternative energy sources, natural ventilation, and strategic building orientation to maximize environmental efficiency.

A prime example is the Kamphaeng Phet Provincial Museum (Ruan Thai Museum), which embodies the elegance of traditional Central Thai architecture. The museum preserves authentic Thai craftsmanship while incorporating climate-responsive features, including optimal orientation and openings aligned with natural light and wind direction. These design principles significantly enhance energy efficiency and promote sustainability, making the museum a model of green architecture on campus.

Through such initiatives, KPRU continues to advance environmentally responsible infrastructure development, harmonizing cultural preservation with energy-efficient and sustainable practices.
