Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University (KPRU), continues to advance its mission of promoting sustainable local development and enhancing the quality of life for communities in Pong Nam Ron and Sak Ngam Subdistricts, Khlong Lan District, Kamphaeng Phet Province.

In 2024, the faculty organized public forums on “Drafting the Community Tourism Charter” to create clear, inclusive, and community-driven strategies for sustainable tourism. The initiative aimed to strengthen local participation, empower residents, and support effective policy formulation for long-term community growth.

More than 80 local stakeholders—including tourism entrepreneurs, community leaders, and residents—took part in the charter development process. To ensure inclusivity and local ownership, a second consultation involving 40 additional participants was held to refine and finalize the framework.

On April 30, 2024, the completed Community Tourism Charter was officially presented to the Subdistrict Administrative Organizations (SAOs), providing them with a practical policy tool to improve tourism management and drive sustainable economic development in the area.
