Sustainable Cities and Communities

On April 2, 2024, Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University (KPRU), in collaboration with Kamphaeng Phet Province, organized the Thai Heritage Conservation Day celebration to honor Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on her birthday and the National Thai Heritage Conservation Day. The event took place at the Kamphaeng Phet Provincial Museum (Ruan Thai Museum) under KPRU’s Office of Arts and Culture.

Mr. Chatip Rujanaseri, Governor of Kamphaeng Phet, presided over the ceremony, joined by deputy governors, local leaders, KPRU administrators, international performers, students, and community members.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Preeyanuch Prompasit, President of KPRU, emphasized that April 2 is a national day dedicated to honoring the Princess’s lifelong contributions to preserving Thai heritage in fields such as religion, literature, arts, and culture.

The celebration featured Thai and international cultural performances, including traditional music, Khon masked drama, and artistic showcases from Sri Lanka, India, and the Philippines, alongside the “Chakungrao Retro Market: Best of Kamphaeng Phet”, which highlighted local products and crafts.

The event reaffirmed KPRU’s commitment to cultural preservation, national identity, and community engagement in promoting Thailand’s rich heritage.
