KPRU Expands Lifelong Learning Opportunities Through Credit Bank System
Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University (KPRU) has implemented the Credit Bank Regulation B.E. 2566 (2023) to strengthen its commitment to lifelong learning and flexible education pathways. This system enables learners to accumulate academic credits earned from formal education into a unified credit bank, thereby enhancing accessibility and supporting continuous skill development at all stages of learning.

To align with this policy, KPRU has tasked each faculty with developing academic pathways that connect higher education with basic education. As a result, the university has introduced eight bridging programs with structured study plans, including:

Digital Skills and Basic Programming — Faculty of Science and Technology
Fast-Track Pathway for Law Studies — Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
Public Administration — Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences
Tourism and Hospitality Management — Faculty of Management Science
Accounting — Faculty of Management Science
Computer Technology — Faculty of Industrial Technology
Engineering Technology — Faculty of Industrial Technology
Accounting (Mae Sot Campus)
The Credit Bank system is implemented through close collaboration between university lecturers and partner schools. Together, they co-design curricula, aligned course clusters, and suitable learning plans for students at the basic education level. Instruction is delivered both on-site at schools and via the KPRU MOOC online learning platform for selected subjects, ensuring flexible access to learning resources and quality instruction.

Academic achievements earned through the Credit Bank system are formally recognized and can be transferred directly as university credits, allowing learners to progress smoothly into higher education programs. This initiative reflects KPRU’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities, supporting equitable access to higher education, and promoting a lifelong learning culture in alignment with national education reform efforts and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education.

Online learning becomes an important role in education today because there are various convenient tools available, such as mobile phones, tablets, and laptops, which allow learners conveniently access to various information sources. Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University recognizes the importance of online learning. Therefore, we have prepared an electronic learning management system (E-Learning) under the supervision of the Computer Center, the Office of Academic Services and Information Technology. This system has been developed and improved from Moodle, which is a quality and internationally standardized Content Management System (CMS) and Learning Management System (LMS) for media management. It is named in accordance with the identity of Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University, which is the "Digital Learning System," and is accessible through the internet at https://mooc.kpru.ac.th. The KPRU MOOC system currently provides services for online learning. The system includes creating contents, quizzes, teaching management, and examination management. All data will be stored in the university's network. This service is offered both KPRU students and the public (*it depends on each course's specification whether to be available for external participants). This platform is developed under the Moodle 4. Additionally, learners will receive a certificate of completion after they complete these courses.

In 2023, the eight Rajabhat Universities in the northern region entered into a collaboration agreement to jointly develop general education courses in support of lifelong learning. This initiative aligns with the national development strategy and the Reinventing University Project. The collaboration aims to strengthen academic capacity and enhance educational management efficiency through knowledge exchange and coordinated efforts. It also seeks to respond to evolving social, economic, and technological contexts, as well as emerging learning trends in the modern world, ensuring long-term sustainability.

This partnership allows learners to conveniently access general education courses through MOOC platforms. At present, more than 20 courses have been developed under this cooperation and are available to learners via the KPRU MOOC system, as well as each university’s online learning platform.
