Improving Learning Opportunities for Children in Border and Displaced Communities
Faculty of Education at KPRU Promotes Educational Equality through Volunteer Camp for Border Patrol Police Schools
The Faculty of Education, Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University (KPRU), organized a volunteer camp under the Educational Quality Promotion Project for Border Patrol Police Schools from 2–4 December 2024 at Ban Mae Klong Khi Border Patrol Police School, Umphang District, Tak Province. The initiative aimed to enhance educational opportunities for children in remote border communities, particularly those from displaced families living along the Thai–Myanmar border.
This year’s project also formed part of the preparations to welcome Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who is scheduled to visit Tak Province to perform royal duties from 23–25 December 2024. In support of this significant occasion, university volunteers participated in improving school facilities, including classrooms, the library, and surrounding learning environments, to create a more inviting and supportive atmosphere for teaching and learning.
Through this initiative, Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University continues to uphold its mission in community engagement, reducing educational inequality, and promoting the well-being of children in border areas who often have limited access to quality learning resources. The project reflects KPRU’s commitment to fostering inclusive and sustainable education in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4: Quality Education) and the Rajabhat Universities’ mission for regional development.
