Sustainable Water Extraction on Campus
KPRU Advances Environmental Sustainability through a Closed-Loop Water Management System
Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University (KPRU) has implemented a sustainable water management system designed to ensure efficient and responsible use of water across the university campus. The system supports water usage for consumption and daily operations by channeling water into the university’s internal production and distribution process.
To minimize environmental impact, wastewater generated from campus consumption is directed to a treatment facility, where it undergoes a purification process before being released into nearby canals. The treated water is subsequently reused for irrigation, particularly for watering trees and maintaining green landscapes throughout the campus.
This closed-loop system exemplifies KPRU’s commitment to resource efficiency, environmental stewardship, and sustainable campus operations. By reducing freshwater consumption and promoting water recycling, the university actively contributes to the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation and the broader mission of the Rajabhat University Network in advancing sustainable local development.
