Education for SDGs: Commitment to Meaningful Education
Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University (KPRU) demonstrates institutional commitment to sustainability-related education formally approved General Education Curriculum (Revised 2023). The curriculum was approved by the University Council on 19 January 2023 and implemented from the first semester of the 2023 academic year. It provides an interdisciplinary foundation for undergraduate students, emphasising responsible citizenship, ethical conduct, social development, environmental stewardship and the practical application of knowledge to contemporary challenges.
The curriculum requires students to complete at least 24 credits across four General Education subject groups. Two compulsory courses, Thai Citizens in the Dynamic Society (9001201) and Science and Life (9001401), address sustainability-related themes, including global citizenship, social change, health, agriculture, energy and the environment. Students can also choose sustainability-related elective courses covering human rights, cultural heritage, local development, responsible management, entrepreneurship, well-being and environmental protection. Environmental Care (9001404) specifically covers sustainable development, ecosystems, pollution, conservation and community participation.
The curriculum also sets out General Education Learning Outcomes (GELOs) that emphasise social responsibility, respect for human rights, ethical behaviour, volunteering, cultural diversity and environmental conservation. These outcomes link sustainability-related principles to the university’s educational objectives and course structure. The official curriculum is publicly available on KPRU’s academic registration website and provides documentary evidence of how the university integrates sustainability-related education into undergraduate general education.
