KPRU Leads 54 Students in a Social Engineering Workshop on Community Problem-Solving in Tak Province
Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University (KPRU) organised a workshop on developing solutions to local problems through social engineering processes from 4–6 January 2025 at the Le Tor Royal Project Development Centre in Tak Province. Assistant Professor Dr. Preeyanuch Prompasit, President of KPRU, Assistant Professor Dr. Chayada Klinchan, Vice President, and Pranee Phaendee, Acting Director of the Student Development Division, led 54 students on a study visit to learn about community development in highland areas.
Students studied the water management system at Mae Hin Luang Noi Reservoir, visited demonstration plots managed by farmers participating in the Royal Project, and met with residents of Huai Pong and Le Tor villages to explore local problems and community needs. They used five social engineering tools: Fa Prathan, Life Clock, Development Timeline, Process Timeline and the M.I.C. Model. The activities aimed to develop students’ skills in four areas: thinking, communication, coordination and innovation.
The workshop connected university learning with practical experience in communities. The Le Tor Royal Project Development Centre served as a learning site where students explored agricultural livelihood development, natural resource management and approaches to improving local people’s quality of life. These activities supported sustainable local development and encouraged students to apply their knowledge and social engineering skills in future work with communities.
