KPRU Integrates Local Stakeholder Participation into Annual Development Planning
Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University (KPRU) identifies and engages local stakeholders as part of its annual planning for academic outreach and local development. Needs assessments and consultations with stakeholders and partner organisations help the university align its activities with community priorities and local conditions.
The university’s Measures to Promote Integrity and Transparency for 2025 set out procedures for the Office of Academic Services and Revenue Generation to assess stakeholders’ needs and expectations, identify target stakeholder groups, and consult them on local problems and development plans. These procedures also require coordination with provincial governors and district chiefs to jointly determine development priorities, target areas and issues to be addressed.

In preparation for 2025 activities, KPRU held a consultation at Tha Phutsa Subdistrict Municipality on 21 November 2024. Participants included four university representatives, five government representatives and 22 local residents. The consultation report lists participants by name and stakeholder group and records community problems, needs, recommendations and proposed actions. It also documents how stakeholder input informed improvements to planned activities, including promotional signage for a community banana shop in response to local needs.

KPRU Works with Partners in Khlong Khlung District to Advance THAPHUTSA MODEL for Sustainable Poverty Eradication
Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University (KPRU) continues to support policy collaboration for local development and a systematic approach to addressing poverty. On 28 October 2025, Assistant Professor Dr. Preeyanuch Prompasit, President of KPRU, university executives and representatives from faculties, centres and offices attended a consultation meeting at Khlong Khlung District Office in Kamphaeng Phet Province. They met with government agencies, private sector representatives and community members to review progress under the Rajabhat University Strategic Project for Local Development for the 2025 fiscal year and plan the implementation of the poverty eradication model for the 2026 fiscal year.
The meeting brought together 87 participants, including Mr. Sadudee Phutthang, Khlong Khlung District Chief, and representatives from local administrative organisations, government agencies, the private sector and local communities. Discussions focused on THAPHUTSA MODEL, an area-based development approach that addresses poverty through collaboration among five stakeholder groups: local administrative organisations, the private sector, KPRU, the Khlong Khlung district administration and community enterprise groups. The model integrates four dimensions of development: economic, social, environmental and educational.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the university and partners to review progress, identify local problems and challenges, and discuss practical approaches and measures for the next phase of implementation. These discussions aimed to ensure that development activities respond to local conditions and community needs. The initiative reflects the university’s role in bringing academic knowledge into government planning and supporting collaboration across sectors. Through this role, KPRU seeks to support poverty eradication, improve quality of life and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals at the local level.
