KPRU Promotes Responsible Water Management through a Community Groundwater Banking Workshop
Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University (KPRU), through the General Affairs Division, Office of the President, organised a groundwater banking workshop to mark World Environment Day on 5 June 2025 at Wang Yang Village, Nakhon Chum Subdistrict, Mueang Kamphaeng Phet District. Held under the Community Resource Management Learning Centre Project, the activity brought together 170 university personnel and local residents to promote awareness of environmental challenges and responsible water management.
The workshop combined university expertise with local knowledge through lectures on aquatic ecosystem conservation and practical demonstrations of open and closed groundwater banking systems. Participants learned approaches to managing rainwater, reducing waterlogging and supporting groundwater storage for dry periods. Through community-based learning and hands-on activities, KPRU encouraged residents to recognise the value of water and understand how local water management practices can support conservation and preparedness for seasonal flooding and drought.
