KPRU Trains Community Leaders to Support Access to Preventive Healthcare in Nakhon Chum
On 21 January 2025, the Faculty of Nursing at Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University (KPRU) held a workshop at Nakhon Chum Subdistrict Health Promoting Hospital in Mueang Kamphaeng Phet District. The workshop aimed to strengthen the ability of community leaders to support the prevention, monitoring and control of diabetes and hypertension, helping bring preventive healthcare closer to local residents.
The Faculty of Nursing worked with local partners to train community leaders in basic health assessment, monitoring for diabetes and hypertension, and ways to encourage healthier behaviours suited to everyday life in the community. By training local leaders at a primary healthcare facility, the programme aimed to strengthen links between residents and local health services and support access to screening, health education and follow-up care.
