Sustainable Cities and Communities

Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University (KPRU) prioritises pedestrian access and mobility by developing a campus environment that supports safe, convenient and environmentally friendly walking. Recognising the contribution of walking to energy efficiency and sustainable transport, the university encourages students, staff and visitors to travel on foot between campus facilities.

Covered walkways connect major buildings, while pedestrian bridges provide direct routes between key areas. Clearly marked crossings link academic zones and green spaces, helping pedestrians navigate the campus safely. The university now also provides accessible pathways for people with disabilities, supporting more inclusive access to campus facilities.

Solar-powered lighting along pathways improves visibility while reducing energy consumption. Shaded seating areas provide places to rest along walking routes, making journeys more comfortable. Together, these facilities support pedestrian mobility and help create a more accessible and welcoming campus for all users.
