Responsible Consumption and Production

Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University (KPRU), through Procurement Unit, General Affairs Division, Office of the President, developed the revised Green Procurement Operations Manual for the 2025 fiscal year. The manual guides personnel in considering environmental impacts when procuring goods and services, alongside the principles of value for money, transparency, efficiency, effectiveness, accountability and fair competition.

The manual directs personnel to consult lists of environmentally friendly goods and services and consider products certified under the Green Label scheme or meeting environmental criteria. It considers impacts throughout the product life cycle, from raw material sourcing, production, energy use, packaging and transportation to use and end-of-life management. This approach incorporates information relating to manufacturers and external suppliers into the university’s selection of goods and services.

Where Green Label-certified or Green Basket-listed products are unavailable, the manual recommends considering products from establishments certified at Green Industry Level 4 or above, or goods and services carrying environmental labels. It also sets out procurement procedures according to expenditure thresholds, online reporting guidelines, and processes for reviewing and approving reports to support systematic and accountable procurement.
